Medicare, made clear by your local advisors.
Aaron, Bre and Colleen Palmiter help you compare plans, check your doctors and prescriptions, and enroll, all by phone or Zoom from the comfort of home.
Let’s talk it over
Most appointments are by phone or Zoom. Our new office is under renovation, so in-person visits are available on set days at our temporary office. Use the booking code from our email, or call us to book.
There’s no “best” plan. There’s the right plan for you.
Your doctors, your prescriptions, your health and your budget decide which plan fits. We compare the options we offer and help you enroll in the one that makes sense.
Medicare Advantage
All-in-one plans with medical and drug coverage, often with dental, vision, gym and hearing extras.
Medicare Supplement
AARP Plan G and Plan N from UnitedHealthcare. Use any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that takes Medicare.
Prescription costs
We run every one of your medications through Medicare.gov so you see real pharmacy costs before you choose.
New to Medicare
Turning 65, retiring or losing work coverage? We help you sign up for Parts A and B and choose your first plan.
What to have ready for your appointment
- A list of your prescriptions, with dose and how often you take them
- Your red, white and blue Medicare card
- Your doctors and specialists, and where they are
- Your current plan’s benefits, if you have them
- For an AARP Supplement: your AARP membership (or join at 1-866-331-1964)
Medicare basics in plain English
Part A & Part B
From the federal government. Part A helps pay for hospital stays. Part B helps pay for doctors, tests and outpatient care. You pay deductibles and 20% of most bills.
Medicare Supplement + Part D
A Supplement pays most of what Original Medicare leaves behind, at any doctor that takes Medicare. Add a separate Part D plan for drugs.
Medicare Advantage
One plan from a private company that replaces how you use Parts A and B. Usually includes drugs and extras like dental, vision and gym.
Signing up for Part B?
Forms and a short video that walks you through signing up online.
When can I change my Medicare plan?
Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7. Changes start January 1. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you get one more chance to switch from January 1 to March 31.
How do I sign up for Part B when I retire?
Fill out form CMS-40B and have your employer complete form CMS-L564, then send both to Social Security. The Poughkeepsie office is at 332 Main St (1-877-405-6747). Your card arrives in about two weeks. You can also sign up online at ssa.gov. We’re happy to help with the forms.
What is NY EPIC?
New York’s drug-cost help for people 65 and over who meet the income limits. It works alongside your Part D coverage, and you can apply any time of year. Learn more or get the EPIC application.
How much is the Part B premium?
In 2026 the standard Part B premium is $202.90 a month, and the Part B deductible is $283 a year. You keep paying it with any Medicare plan. The standard amount is for incomes up to $109,000 (single) or $218,000 (married, filing jointly), based on your tax return from two years ago. Higher incomes pay more. Medicare announces the 2027 amounts in the fall; we’ll post them here.
Can I get help paying for Medicare?
Many people qualify and don’t know it. New York’s Medicare Savings Program can pay your Part B premium, and it has no limit on savings or assets. In 2026 you may qualify with monthly income up to about $2,494 (single) or $3,375 (couple). If you get it, you also get Extra Help, which lowers your drug costs. Even without it, you can get Extra Help with yearly income up to $23,940 (single) or $32,460 (couple) and savings under $18,090 (single) or $36,100 (couple). Call us and we’ll help you apply.
Do I need to be an AARP member for an AARP Supplement?
Yes. You can join over the phone at 1-866-331-1964.
